Our Client seeks a Compliance Manager based in its Bermuda Office
Duties and responsibilities of the role  include:

  • Responsibility for maintaining, updating and overseeing an effective compliance program
  • Completion of business client risk assessments, trigger event reviews and high risk client analysis
  • Build close working relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the organisation ensuring that they keep abreast of all applicable legislative and regulatory developments and are working proactively to implement required changes in response to them
  • Undertake regular testing of business activities in order to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations codes and reporting requirements
  • Finding potential areas of compliance weakness, creating action plans for resolution and providing guidance through the process to mitigate risk
  • Tracking the results of quality assurance reviews performed and the status of remedial actions proposed, performing re-testing where necessary to ensure findings shave been addressed properly
  • Preparing/Presenting  reports for Directors and the Head of Compliance
Minimum Qualification and Experience
  • The ideal Candidate will be degree qualified and hold a relevant professional designation (eg. CAMS, ICA, etc.) coupled with a min of 5yrs compliance experience gained working within a financial services or professional services firm
  • In-depth knowledge of compliance and regulatory matters specifically  KYC, AML/ATF and sanctions in the following jurisdictions Bermuda, Caribbean, Channel Islands and Asia
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of ViewPoint is an asset
  • Team player with ability to manage, motivate and train others
  • Accurate and keen attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Good judgment and ability to think independently
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and work effectively and cross-functionally within a highly-matrix organization with employees at all levels
  • Self-starter with the ability to meet or exceed deadlines, prioritize multitask, and maintain flexibility in fast-paced, changing environment
  • Excellent organizational written verbal and presentation n skills including the ability to interpret and communicate compliance guidance internally
