On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Senior Client Accountant.  Our Client offers a full range of accounting, administrative and business advisory services in support of exempted and locally incorporated companies, partnerships, individuals and trusts. Services on behalf of clients range from responsibilities for professionally meeting the routine statutory requirements of organizations whose activities are minimal, to the full provision of uniquely specified day-to-day management, accounting and administrative needs of the most active business enterprises as a cost-efficient alternative to employing staff and establishing their own physical office presence in Bermuda.

 

The client services accounting team leverages our expertise and resources to provide high quality services tailored to the specific needs of our client.

 

What Will You Do

 

  • Responsible for preparing management accounts, and annual financial statements, ensuring all regulatory and ad-hoc reporting is completed in accordance with requirements
  • Preparing periodic financial statements under Canadian, US and IFRS GAAP and the related construction of footnotes
  • Liaison with auditors to ensure annual audit completed within client and/or statutory deadlines
  • Assist clients with budgeting and forecasting as required and assist with the onboarding of new clients
  • Involved in providing technical guidance and coaching to a team of Client Accountants
  • Manage and monitor the timing and quality of client deliverables
  • Provide regular and appropriate feedback and ad hoc reports to management/head of department
  • Ensuring client fully compliant with other statutory obligations e.g. FATCA
  • Working with our Corporate Services Team to ensure company secretarial filings submitted within statutory deadlines
  • Working with our Business Development Team in identifying and following up on business opportunities and the development of our services;
  • Sharing information and providing training, guidance, advice and assistance to other team members as required;
  • Interact directly with senior management and clients with appropriate escalation
  • Ongoing liaison with auditors, investment bankers, lawyers, investment managers, custodians and other transaction parties
  • Assisting with training of junior staff
  • Processing of client payments may be required from time to time

 

What You’ll Need

 

  • An internationally recognized professional accounting qualification (CA, ACCA, CGA or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience and a record of progressive responsibility during the qualified period
  • Professional accountancy qualification (CPA, CA or ACCA), ideally gained in a financial services oriented environment, in addition to a strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards, GAAP and financial and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Prior experience in a similar role would be an advantage;
  • Candidates from a Big 4 background with exposure to financial services or qualified accountants working in the tax departments of Big 4 firms will also be strongly considered
  • Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent analytical and problem solving abilities, strong written and verbal communication skills and must be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • An ability to meet strict deadlines is a must
  • Highly organized, able to switch gears quickly, strong attention to detail
  • Train and support team members in their development
  • Engage in local and global group projects
