This week’s guest is Cathy Bryce, Managing Director of Corporate, Institutional and Business Banking at AIB. Cathy began her career as an analyst with Morgan Stanley. In 1995, she moved to ABN AMRO to work as a manager. After that in 1996, Cathy moved into AIB as Head of Structured Finance.
Currently, she is working as a Managing Director, in one of the so-called “Big Four” commercial banks in Ireland, AIB. Cathy is considered a leading expert in the Banking industry and a breaker of the so-called “glass ceiling”. While working in AIB, Cathy has also held a number of different directorships for different companies. This includes the Dublin Port Company in where she sat as non-executive Director and the National Treasury Management Agency as a Director.
James sits with Cathy Bryce to discuss her career trajectory in the financial services field. They discuss what she looks for when she is hiring, the mistakes she has made and what advice she would pass down to those starting out.
