This week’s guest is Deirdre Mortell, CEO of Rethink Ireland. Rethink Ireland is a non-profit growth capital fund for the best social innovations that tackle Ireland’s critical social issues. Under Deirdre’s leadership, Rethink Ireland secured backing by the Irish government and has worked hard to try and correct Ireland’s social issues. Deirdre has twenty years’ experience of changing the world one step at a time. Sometimes by leading and sometimes by contributing in a team setting.

Deirdre is also a former CEO of the ONE Foundation, has held senior roles in fundraising & communications in Oxfam and Barnardos, and has held multiple Board directorships. Uniting all this is Deirdre’s passionate for social change, both globally and locally in Ireland. It also shows her belief in the power of philanthropy and the ordinary citizen’s ability to change things.Deirdre especially loves doing start-ups, having done 7 in the last ten years.
