This week’s guest is Maryrose Lyons, Founder of Brightspark Consulting. Maryrose Lyons is a pioneering digital marketer, who specialises in Social Media. She’s always been at the cutting edge of developments as they happen ever since she founded her business Brightspark back in 2003.

She is one of the few Irish members of the International Academy of Digital Arts & Science, and she has won international awards for her work, including ones from the United Nations for eGovernment and Open data. Maryrose also works with senior management teams to advise on digital marketing and social media strategy, and with marketing teams to mentor them to deliver results.

She has worked in the tourism industry for both Tourism Ireland and Failte Ireland, with lots of hotels (Dromoland, Cork International, Choice Hotels), as well as activities and excursions. She has Manufacturing, Professional Services, and is currently busy helping Retailers to step their game and embrace ecommerce and social selling.

James sits down with Maryrose Lyons to discuss her career, the twists and turns it has had and the advice she would give to those starting out on their career journeys.
