A positive outcome of today’s socially distanced zeitgeist is that it has given us the imagination to communicate in ways we never have before. Human creativity is at its best when there is a problem to be solved, and in a world that has suddenly been forced to retreat inwardly, we have devised innovative new ways to reach out to one another.
That’s what our Zoom Seminars are all about; reaching out and learning from one another. Using the popular conference call software, Zoom, we will be bringing you intriguing seminars delivered by experts across many different disciplines, each one bringing you knowledge and advice that you can apply to your own lives.
Agathe Holowatinc is a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, published author, health food private chef and health industry entrepreneur. Her company, FUELLED Bermuda Ltd. helps people to achieve their health and performance goals via nutrition coaching that addresses their individual needs.
Agathe shared her expert knowledge around the subject of dieting during stressful times, such as those we are living in, and how to remain productive during them. She told us that it is important to practice daily anything that ‘protects your peace’, or, in layman’s terms, those activities or places that gives us calm. Think meditation, reading, writing, sewing – whatever brings you peace.
Three powerful foundations for a healthy and happy mind are gratitude, laughter, and a strong sense of purpose to guide us through the dark. Regarding our diets, Agathe says that it is important to care for our guts as 70% of our immune systems are tied to them. A healthy gut is the foundation to a healthy immune system, which can be boosted by eating foods such as kale, lemons, yogurt, and ginger.
Combating anxiety during COVID-19 is also a concern for many, who will be happy to know that this can be alleviated in part by incorporating oil, walnuts, seeds, avocados, sardines, mackerel, and salmon into your diet. And, of course, staying sufficiently hydrated is the absolute bare minimum you can do to keep yourself healthy during this trying time.
It may seem obvious to some, but the advice shared with us during this Zoom Seminar is so often neglected in practice, and it’s of vital importance now, more than ever, to dedicate time to our mental and physical health.
